Chidham Barn – Chichester Wedding Venue

Chidham Barn is a hidden gem on the edge of West Sussex. It is venue perfect for relaxed summer weddings, in a rural setting with uninterrupted views & acres of fields. It is nestled in the heart of a family farm, and with the right atmostphere a wedding here feels like a summers evening in Italy! At the time of writing this, it is certainly one of my favourite wedding venues in West Sussex, just due to it’s simplicity and beautiful setting. If you’re looking for West Sussex wedding venues, then Chidham is certainly a great option!

Abi & Oli’s Wedding Day – Summer 2024

Abi & Oli had their wedding on a beautiful warm day in June 2024. They also opted for an engagement shoot with me, click here to see the photos! The ceremony was held at Emsworth Baptist Church – the bride & groom’s church – and the reception at Chidham Barn, West Sussex. The ceremony was great, and afterwards we took a walk down to the Emsworth Millpond for some couple shots. From there we headed back to the church to cut the cake, and for the classic confetti arch! At this point we all headed to the Chichester wedding venue, which was only a short 15 minute drive.

Chidham Barn is a gorgeous venue, and this was my first time shooting a wedding here! The wedding breakfast was a BBQ by Rosie & Ripe, with 100% vegan food like lion’s mane mushrooms, and amazing crispy cauliflower. I’m not a vegan myself but man was it good! Later in the evening we had food from Earth to Oven, as one of the Groomsmen runs it. Amazing flatbreads were served (amongst other things) I myself got some Mac & Cheese bites and I am not hesitant to say they were the best I’ve ever had!

Later in the evening the fire pit was started, and everyone tucked into some roasted marshmallows, and smores. No band or DJ for this wedding, instead we were treated to a few individual sets from the newlywed’s talented friends. A few of them took turns on the keyboard/guitar & microphone, giving a variety of music! As most of the wedding party are Christians, we ended the night with a worship set and it was amazing. Chidham Barn, as Chichester wedding venues go you were amazing – I can’t wait to come back! I’ve got to say, this has probably been my favourite wedding to date – not sure if I should say this but hey – my blog is for me to be honest, right?
